Game of Thrones - new cast members announced at Comic Con

Some pretty big names - Jonathan Pryce, Alexander Siddig, and oscar winner Keisha Castle-Hughes. Siddig has been at the top of fan wishlists for Doran Martell for a while (the even-tempered older brother of the late Oberyn Martell...)

Funny stuff. Now that I've seen what kind of hilarious boo-boo's they made I can't fathom how in the world they went on to make such epic scenes...

I don't recognize any of the new new characters except maybe the the older guy that will be playing the High Septon. I might have seen him in something before.

I'm surprised they actually decided to cast so many of the Sand Snakes since they're relatively small parts in the books, whereas we have no Arianne Martell (a female version of Oberyn...) so far, and no Greyjoy brothers.

At least in terms of origin - one sounded American, Keisha Castle-Hughes is from New Zealand, I think, and Rosabell Laurenti is Italian.

I think in the books, they're a pretty diverse lot as well - Sarella Sand's mother is black, and I think another was supposed to be Asian looking? The last few were between Oberyn & Ellaria (Indira Varma on the show), but were very young overall.

13. Yes, she is important

and, she has two Winds of Winter chapters so far that Martin has read at various events (Tyrion has one, Victarion has one, Ser Barristan has one, as does Theon... but, Arianne has two)

Maybe Ellaria Sand, or one of the other Sand Snakes, will take her place?

And, will Trystane Martell replace Quentyn?
