I made it!

I'm home typing one-handed...

My doc said there were no surprises and all went well, as expected.

Your good wishes and vibes worked! I am so grateful for all your help...I love my friends.

3. Glad that you are back with us and doing well,

but by having the operation as an out-patient procedure you're going to miss on the bikini-clad cabana boy serenades and massages this evening.

4 weeks in this fancy sling; PT starts a week from today.

Thanks!

13. Sooooooo glad to hear from you

The fact that you are home means no complications which required a longer hospital stay. Major good news in that fact alone. So next is your road to recovery. You've been down that road before, you know you can do it. It just takes time and effort. Keep us posted.

22. You are so gracious in your replies to our threads. Now, it's my pleasure to do the same for you.

I won't lift a toast to you, but I do have a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream in my freezer. It would be a privilege to eat it tonight in tribute to your speedy recovery.

I'm sure there's at least one other worthy DU'er who will lift the ceremonial toast in your honor, CaliforniaPeggy.

43. My (future ex) husband got a whole new shoulder

a few weeks ago. He's doing great. The pain he'd been suffering from the (arthritic) damage is completely gone. He's able to lift his guitar strap over his head and play again. Now it's just physical therapy for a while.

I don't know what procedure you had but I hope it works out as well for you!

44. I got a whole new shoulder in January...

I did well too. until it started to dislocate. My chest muscles were tight and my back muscles were loose and that allowed the joint to slip. I don't think it's very common.

My doc inserted something into the joint to strengthen it. I will have PT too. I sure hope it works!

Good luck to your husband!

What did you have done?

I hope it doesn't hurt too much after the nerve block wears off. Those things are awesome. And I hope the PT goes fast and you have full recovery. You dear sweet woman.

48. Aw, thank you, my dear passiveporcupine!

I didn't damage my hand, but my right shoulder. But my whole arm is bound up in a shoulder immobilizer, which extends from my shoulder down over my hand, which makes typing hard.

Thanks for your good thoughts!

and I understand the typing...nothing is more frustrating than having to finger peck when you know how to type by feel. Hope the arm covering isn't on too long.
