What the fuck is wrong with people?

Recently, a very close friend of a few friends of mine has died. In one cas one Person was fired for refusing to come to work on the day of the funeral (The deceased was not blood related, but considered family, like a mother figure. In another case one was also threatened, but his job appears safe for now. In this case the deceased son's job was also threatened if he did not show up to work.

I'm guess I'm just ranting, but this shit just really pissesme off. It's sad to realize we live in a word with many soulless and compassionateless assholes that care more about a few dollars profit than their employees well being, especially on cases like this.

The person who was fired got an even beter job within a week. The other two, their jobs are safe. These are three different companies and ones that can not be boyotted by the average consumer, anyway. I was just commenting on the coldness and complete lack of empathy among business leaders today. It is sickening.

2. I've worked for a few "soulless and compassionateless assholes" in my day.

But they at least had the decency or desire to appear decent enough to give me time off for a funeral, wedding or relative's operation without hesitation and even saying the appropriate thing at the time. First day back, different story--they were back to their normal asshole selves.

I do have my standards for whom I will work.

that recently I've had a couple of dreams where my former supervisor appeared in the role of the mean, cruel (word that will get this post hidden) that she truly was. The people that hired me at that company were some of the kindest, most caring supervisors that I had in my entire career and when this (same word) took over everything went down hill. I ended up going to work in a foot of snow once and it was the first time that the DFW area had that much snow on the ground in decades because of her sorry expectations. I also attribute her actions to forcing two other colleagues to leave the company on disability.

She was the lousiest boss I ever had and whether one believes in karma or Hell, I expect that it will eventually catch up with her.

maybe they simply can't relate
maybe they've never gone through the experience of losing someone dear to them
and if they have, perhaps they have zero empathy

The boss said the next day, criticizing her time off. "I would have just came in to work and said I was having a bad day", knowing the deceased was a mother figure that was in her life since

she was a child.

Because conservatives have zero empathy for anyone, that's a fact. Lose someone close to you? Too bad! Get back in line. Children crossing the border thanks an b inane conservative prohibition policy that's led to civil war? Go home! Maybe a compassionate conservative means that they at least pretend to care?

working life but I'm also calmly vocal when someone says something inappropriate to me. I've also never been afraid of being fired. Two things, I'm smart so I know I'll land on my feet and if you're fired you get to file for unemployment.

I understand having the person take a vacation day, or something, but telling them they will lose their job if they go is crazy.
