(1,408 posts)A definite Squeeee!! Love those eyes.
They can give "that" look can't they?
How long after the pic was taken, did it take to get the 'poor baby' into your lap or at least out of the box.
We have one of those. He's the reason I've been up all night for the past week. He's been sick but I think he may be getting better. At least he's eating again.
This is Digger. He's currently 6 months old (5 in the pic) and the runt of a litter of 4.
He was so small that we wondered if he would survive. We have since found out that he has a problem with his back legs, possibly spina bifida, and his right front leg didn't form straight but he gets around pretty good.
I didn't know that there are different types of spina bifida. Some worse than others. We're hoping, and it looks like, he may be able to get around better as he gets older. So far his legs have strength and mobility, so with PT the outlook seems to be good.
Oh. We named him Digger because after he was born his brothers and sisters took up room on Momma so he would burrow in and around until he found a nipple. His sibs didn't keep him away(quite the opposite) and Momma didn't reject him, there was just limited room at Momma.
Here's a pic of all 4 babies(L-R, Lorenzo, Xena, Dot..t & Digger) at 3 weeks. You can see the difference in size.
Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. I'm just so proud of Digger and the way he doesn't give up.
I'm the guy that brings out pics of kids and grandkids at a moments notice too.
Some other pics, Momma and Poppa(Buddy) and a couple others here... http://maxpics.wordpress.com/our-furbabies/

(1,408 posts)I didn't put in the other post that for the past 8 days he's been fighting the equivalent of a 'cat cold' so he's been on 2 antibiotics to prevent any bacterial infections. His lungs still got a little noisy (crackling/popping sounds) 3 days ago but today they were much less noisy and he's going after food instead of waiting for it to come to him and drinking a bit so I don't have to give him as much with the eyedropper.
He has 6 days of meds to go and we're hoping that everything clears up by then. We had another cat, a sister from another litter, that was on several different antibiotics off and on for several months.
Diggers litter was a surprise. His Daddy was scheduled to be neutered a few days, as near as we can tell, after he got Little Momma pregnant.
So far his outlook is excellent.
As for the inspiration part, he's got me to try harder to overcome some things that have come up in my rehab. Actually, if it wasn't for me having to take care of him over the past few months and seeing how he's come along despite what has been thrown at him, I don't think I'd be as far along as I am now despite my arthritis getting worse.
I only get online 2-3 times a week when the arthritis in my hands gets cranked up. Taking care of Diggs is about all I can do. Today is a good day, 8 fingers are working like they should. I include this not as an excuse for taking so long to answer because I try to acknowledge replies to posts. I try not to post something then leave right away.
Well, take care.

When I get feeling better I'll post more about him and the rest of our furbabies.
