(95,337 posts)I adored the Digital shorts of Adam Sanberg. Was also a big fan of Bill Murray. And I think Kate McKinnon and Taran Killam will roll in the next great generation of work for SNL

(50,566 posts)I actually do think Will Ferrell was a great cast member, even though I know some DUers dis him a lot.
Loved Gilda, too, and Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray.
Belushi -- He had some funny characters, but was a misogynistic asshole, and I have an overall negative view of him.

(4,138 posts)OTOH, Eddie Murphy and Will Ferrell basically carried the show during some really weak seasons, and there's something to be said for that too.

(1,307 posts)Phil Hartman biography comes out this September 23. His talent was as large as Robin Williams'.

(14,400 posts)you left off the brilliant comedy stylings of Victoria Jackson.
Actually I think I have to go with John Belushi.

(1,698 posts)From Judy Miller, to Roseann Roseannadanna, to Lisa Loopner, to Emily Litella, to Candy Slice, to Nadia Comanec, Gilda made us laugh 'til we cried.
Belushi singing as Joe Cocker with Joe Cocker was priceless.

(2,314 posts)He was funny and brilliant. And he nailed some many characters. Never forget his Nixon...or his Jimmy Carter!

(33,688 posts)SNL cast members. So sad that they are both gone. Eddie Murphy and Bill Murray are right up there, though.
