(8,431 posts)I am curious as to why all your posts have endless lines of dots, and very little content in between the dots. Why do you do that?

(8,431 posts)Honestly? Your excuse that it's easier to read a post when it's broken up, is patronizing. As if we're not capable of reading a single-lined paragraph. I'd like to know who has difficulty doing that. I can't say I've ever heard someone say "I wish somebody would separate every single sentence of their posts with a series of 100 dots".
Call me crazy, but when I come here, I'm here to READ. Not scroll.

There's such a simple solution to your annoyance.
.
.
.
Don't click on my OP's.
.
.
.
We should have an "Ignore" feature again soon.
.
.
.
Until then, my suggestion above is an EXTREMELY effective low-tech "Ignore".
.
.
.
But I'm betting most people are aware of that already.

.
CreekDog
(46,192 posts)I was just pointing out that ignore isn't an option yet.
CreekDog
(46,192 posts)but until then, I guess we're SOL.

It's often the concept of "Wait for it... WAIT FOR IT!!!"
.
.
.
Sometimes it's completely "unnecessary", but it's become a habit now. I also
do it to a lesser extent in my emails for similar reasons. Some find it completely
annoying and/or distracting. As soon as they get the feature back up... that's
EASILY fixed with the "Ignore" feature. Being put on "Ignore" has never bothered
me. In fact, I'm glad the option has been there (and, hopefully... soon will be).
It relieves the annoyed, yet doesn't "censor" how I choose to express myself.

CreekDog
(46,192 posts)once i posted about leaving a $1 tip at a restaurant where my service was atrocious (they actually forgot about me completely).
so, i posted a Lounge thread saying I felt really bad, but that I had to tip just $1.
it was during a DU fundraiser.
next thing i know there's a sticky up above saying: "Bastid tipped me $1"
was i hurt? no, i was too busy laughing.

On my last visit to the ER (where they deal with a substantial number of homeless people),
the doctor examining me told me that it's NICE to deal with a beard that didn't have any
NUMBER of recent meals archived within it.
