My assistant is wearing military-camo pattern scrubs today.

When he walked into the room to give me my schedule for the day, I looked around, puzzled, and said: "Who did that? Who is that? Where are you?"

He laughed.

It's Friday. We're gonna need a sense of humor to get through the day...

That's not the stupidest thing I ever heard of, but it's on the short list.

When I went in for my annual physical the doc's RN was wearing a top that had
ice cream cones printed all over it! Egads! I asked her how she could not
be thinking of ice cream all day. Maybe she needs to...she's rather thin...
and a cancer survivor of several years. Still, I really didn't need to be looking
at ice cream cones, myself!

There are designer scrubs with more adult prints--and better fitted.
There's no reason to wear boxy, frumpy tops.

I remember watching Julie London as Nurse Dixie McCall in Emergency! when I was a kid. She looked gorgeous in her starched white nurse's uniform and cap. But those garments are alarmingly impractical for working in hands-on medicine. I don't know how comfortable they might have been, either.

As a PA, I wear a shirt and tie and part of my clinic outfit. On the rare occasions when I've pulled hospital call, however, I wear the issue hospital scrubs. Comfy and you don't care about getting blood and other bodily effluvia on it.

If an allied health professional wants to wear 'cute' scrubs, I'm all for it...

Maybe he thought that with 20 patients on your schedule today you might feel like having something to hide behind.

I'm at our mainstream clinic today. I'm sharing an office with my supervising physician, and a new ARNP. It's not possible to shut off the lights and close the blinds, put my feet up and

I'll just have to tough it out...
