We ended up getting a Lhasa Apso puppy (pics)

We were going to to market to get a pet rabbit but we got stuck in the crowd by one of the puppy breeders. He asked "would you like to hold one?" and, well, you know what happens then...

He's a very handsome dog:

I want one so bad, but I know with my current lifestyle that I can't have one.

So, I am keeping my fingers crossed for one day being able to get one.

Bandit, Molly, and Chewy. Bandit understood the camera and how to manage his mates. I tried for ten minutes to get them all to sit still, but Molly and Chewy had short attention spans. So I gave up and started walking away. Then Bandit called me, "Woof woof," and I turned to see all three ready for their closeup.

I have one dog and I'm fortunate to have him hold still long enough to get a decent photo. What sweet happy faces!

Your pups are adorable and obviously very much loved. And I can certainly identify since I adopt the older ones from rescue, so I've had several in my life. The dog I have now was an exception, found me at five months and just turned eight. He was a "pet shop rescue" and is a terrific companion, just hates having his picture taken, though I have no idea why...

My dog Jack:

He's not terribly thrilled with me at the moment, since a few weeks ago I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things and came home with a tiny kitten that I found abandoned in the parking lot. The kitten has gotten bigger and would love to play with Jack. Sometimes he's okay with it, but the kitten is currently a little maniac.

Why not get a shelter pet, or just go through a Lhasa Apso rescue? This guy is intentionally making more dogs, while millions of animals get killed in shelters every year.

It needs to stop.

There are some street dog rescues, but the street dogs are too big for us (we have to move every three years which means a lot of flying).
