I started blubbering like an idiot right in the middle of the office.

He's also hit me with "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and "Sullivan" by Caroline Spine. Beautiful songs but I'm such a sap.

That line gets me every time... It's indelibly linked with Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle for some reason. Both have strong emotional associations for me.

after twenty years he still grieves




I once found a dog collar with old vet tags in the closet of an ex - I asked him about it - the collar had belonged to Inky, a solid black cocker spaniel he had grown up with - it was almost 30 years later and he still teared up, talking about that dog
