He died where he was happiest, on my lap. RIP big guy, I sure miss you!
Updated to add, we buried him in my rose garden yesterday. He loved to smell the roses. Now every time one blooms it will his rose. He was 16 years old and led a very good life. Thank you all for the condolences.

(22,271 posts)We lost my big furry Dutchess last week. She was only 5 years old. Found her in the back patio dead. Have NO idea why and we don't have the means to pay for an autopsy. I still expect to see her at the door every morning when I feed the outside cats.

I had friends that could hear their kitty meowing after she died (to get outside the door)..it was very soothing for them. I always listen for my little fur faces..and hope to see each and everyone of my kitties.
