I was listening to the news the other day....
"And now here's the news for Wednesday, November 5th. In America, the Republicans scored a huge electoral victory and are now poised to retake the senate. In Iraq, a car bomb killed 57 people, and in Pakistan, an angry mob gruesomely murdered a Christian couple accused of blasphemy. In Syria, the Islamic State (IS) have made tremendous gains and have executed 76 Shia Muslims in cold blood. In Mexico, a mass grave of 44 students has been unearthed. All were killed execution style. In Africa, the Ebola epidemic continues to worsen and has now claimed over 5,000 lives."
I sighed, turned off the radio and felt depressed.
I can't believe it's November 5th already.

(102,101 posts)After 24/7 bombardment of all media with ugly political ads, we have now replaced it with 24/7 $$$$$$ commercial Christmas insantiy.
Numb the masses with sparkly lights and fantasy and continue to enrich the 1% who will buy the NEXT elections.

But if you have to explain it, it was probably a crap joke...
