Beaujolais Nouveau Day
is marked in France on the third Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the country and further afield to celebrate the first wine of the season. http://www.beaujolaisnouveauday.com
World Hello Day November 21, 2014 is the 42nd annual World Hello Day. Anyone can participate in World Hello Day simply by greeting ten people. This demonstrates the importance of personal communication for preserving peace.
World Hello Day was begun in response to the conflict between Egypt and Israel in the Fall of 1973. Since then, World Hello Day has been observed by people in 180 countries.
People around the world use the occasion of World Hello Day as an opportunity to express their concern for world peace. Beginning with a simple greeting on World Hello Day, their activities send a message to leaders, encouraging them to use communication rather than force to settle conflicts.
As a global event World Hello Day joins local participation in a global expression of peace. The World Hello Day web site address is http://www.worldhelloday.org.
World Television Day. n recognition of the increasing impact television has on decision-making by bringing world attention to conflicts and threats to peace and security and its potential role in sharpening the focus on other major issues, including economic and social issues, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 November as World Television Day (through resolution 51/205 of 17 December 1996).
World Television Day is not so much a celebration of the tool, but rather the philosophy which it represents. Television represents a symbol for communication and globalization in the contemporary world. http://www.un.org/en/events/televisionday/

(17,005 posts)Much too early my friend...but I got what I wanted accomplished, painting the outside of my house.
Great weather for it, cool and dry, and that's a good opportunity here in Florida that I didn't want to miss.

(38,958 posts)your chores. Always good to get things done and crossed off the list.
I have to do some of that too, but it will have to wait until next spring as we are past painting season.

(38,958 posts)the "weekend' for me is actually W-Th and now it is straight through to next Thursday. There is something going on with people buying turkeys, stuffing mix and cranberry sauce of late that seems to have created a bit of extra activity around the workplace.

(111,972 posts)This is a difficult task to accomplish since I don't know hardly anybody in this town (Wharton, TX) and it is supposed to be rainy today so I doubt that I will go out much.

(38,958 posts)I suppose you will have to do your hellos online if as you say it's a stay in day with the rain.
