He had suffered a series of strokes, caused by his high blood pressure. This morning he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He is survived by his sister, Wicca, and his best buddy Bowtie, and his two twolegs. He will be much missed.
If you would honor him, care for cats.

(31,302 posts)Our Mousie and Simba crossed in the last several years, too. I'm sure
Wicca and Bowtie will be looking for him and wondering where he's gone.
When Mousie crossed, his brother Simba would go around to all Mousie's hiding places,
looking for him.
Hugs for you and give some extra scritches to Wicca and Bowtie.

(454 posts)It is always hard to lose a loved one, especially a close companion. No matter what the "experts" tell us, he will be there to greet you when it is your time. And he will remember the love that you shared.
RIP Braveheart

(202,183 posts)My heart goes out to you. Losing a loyal friend is incredibly tough, I know. But he was so very fortunate to have had you...
And I do care for cats. Back in August, I found a tiny kitten in a grocery store parking lot. He was tough to catch, but of course I had to bring him home. The vet says he's healthy and he's now six months old.

I have five of my own, and care for one feral and one stray (who I hope to find a home for in the new year). I know how hard it is to lose one...

(1,408 posts)What a cool name for a cat. Braveheart the Cat.
I'll honor him, and you, by appreciating all our furbabies even more.
Especially Smokey. Hopefully he will be coming home from the hospital tomorrow.
Thank you for your good wishes for him.
From me, my wife and all the our kitties, to you and yours.
Wolf Frankula
(3,595 posts)We appreciate them. When we receive his ashes, they will go in a container touching his best bud, Arbel, who preceded him in 2009. (He was gray, white and furry, everything a cat should be, said Braveheart.) Bowtie is looking for them. Wicca his sister, is scent marking all the necessary places, to make them smell like a kitty.
He and Arbel are mousing together. (They never chased squirrels, because squirrels have fluffy tails and you shouldn't chase anything that has a fluffy tail.)
We are trying to go on. Every cat gets extra scratchies.
Scratch early and often.

(23,748 posts)...so hard to read. One of our vets once remarked to me that we let animals into our hearts, knowing that we will outlive them. True enough. I will give our 5 some extra ear rubs tonight in honor of Braveheart.
