i got the tattoo when i was a teenager and never once regretted it.

big bang theory--i love it. i watch it at night, it plays all night on the tv.

oh, and marijuana back in the day. when i was a kid. before i got the tattoo.

and what the first two posters said. i never did those either. sorry i can't think of anything new/different. i'm still traumatized from the drive home tonight in the snowstorm. my fucking window kept icing up & i couldn't see to drive! pulled over twice, drove with the flashers for awhile, the brights all the way, and had to pour water from my water bottle on my windshield whenever i hit a stop light. it was pretty intense.

Told my boys that I would never, ever buy them one. All of their friends were getting them but I just don't like that kind of thing. Also, I figured they could play them at their friends' houses. They got the message, never even asked, and didn't seem to care that much, although a couple of the neighborhood moms thought I was too strict.

Including, but not limited to:

madrass jackets
disco
EVERYTHING on American TV since 1973
cocaine/marijuana/nicotine/anything else to make me what I'm not
using the Russian word for tea to describe some concoction with milk, sugar and cinnamon
using the Italian word for ice cream to justify paying three times the price for ice cream
using the Italian word for "shrimp" to order a dish that means "shrimp shrimp"
being from Bethesda or Chevy Chase
using a "smart" phone

During the time they were in fashion, I was already spending much of my time in Europe, where they drive like suicidal maniacs. I drive as little as I have to there, and take public transportation instead.

Tue Jan 6, 2015, 07:37 AM

I had an Atari and Pac Man, and such when I was younger, but I quickly grew out of it. These days, even adults have video games and video game systems, or online role playing games. I never felt it was a productive use of time.

games can be a stress-reliever, and they can be a good way to learn strategical skills (esp. when it comes to sports games and turn-based RPGs). Even PacMan can be a form of escape, as frustrating as that game is.

I remember when that first started back in the late 70s/early 80s and I found it ridiculous and an obvious attempt to make oneself look "special". Why the hell would I PAY to offer free advertising space on my person to some company?
