It actually did seem rather funny, if juvenile, from the little that I saw.

3-4 years ago she was an Academy Award nominated actress and I was absolutely thrilled. With so many female actresses relying on eating disorders and plastic surgery to get movie parts in Hollywood, McCarthy was this real woman who knew how to act and did a hilarious job in 'Bridesmaid' as the obnoxious future sister-in-law. She kept me in stitches that entire movie and I thought she might actually win the award.

Fast forward a few years and it seems now that EVERY movie party McCarthy plays is a recycle of the same exact part from 'Bridesmaid' - Overweight slob of a woman with no manners, bad dresser, poor hygiene and gross habits. Heck she hosted SNL and every skit they wrote for her she did that same exact part. She's not the only plus size actress in Hollywood so she needs to start turning down roles that essentially recycles her 'Bridesmaid' character.

But you are right about her playing the same character in every single movie. The Heat wasn't bad, but every movie since has been pretty much the same.

is that she's not being offered parts that stray very far from her Bridesmaid character? Or, maybe that there are not nearly enough parts out there for women who are a bit on the heavy side, no matter how talented?

I thought she was good in The Other Woman even though the whole movie was relatively stupid. I have not seen Sex Tape.

I thought she was likeable in Something About Mary & The Holiday, but neither role required serious acting chops.

has she ever done anything serious? If she has, I can't recall. The roles she plays all seem a little similar and she's no Meryl Streep. But I wouldn't put her in the same "bad" category as numb faced Kristen Stewart, ya know?

Which for the record, was almost three hours long.

Three hours

Three hours of robotic car people, clunking in action in various different continents, while Mark Wahlberg attempts to justify it all.

The main character's name is Cade Yeager.

Cade Yeager.

I mean, honestly, who thought up the idea to name anyone "Cade Yeager"?

when it was on cable not long ago. It sucked. Really badly. And, I normally can tolerate just about anything in the "sword & sandals" genre.

I kept watching it though, because I knew I recognized the guy who played Sotiris in the movie (and Hercules' mentor/buddy) but couldn't quite place him. It was annoyingly right at the edge of my memory, until it finally dawned on me when he and Hercules were thrown in to some gladiator games - the guy playing Sotiris was Spartacus from the Starz series a few years earlier. Liam McIntyre.

I guess he's been typecast as a gladiator!
