Weird random thought: How much wood was wasted on those decorative English Leather bottle stoppers?

I don't know if they still offer those bottles. But I wore English Leather back in the 80's, in a desperate attempt to be cool, and even then, it seemed like a lot of wood to use on a simple bottle cap.

1. that is pretty random brother

I am starting to think that it is a good thing to use at wood, at least from pine and easily renewable new-growth trees. The money gives people incentive to plant trees and let them grow. Without it they would probably concrete it all over and make more walmarts.

2. That's a good point. Anything to prevent more paving & more Wal-Marts.

It was just an idle thought. I remember those caps as being big, heavy, massy, and chunky, and wondering why they were that way just to keep the overpriced smell-stuff in the bottle.

3. I thought the whole point of English Leather was not to waste wood.
