(28,394 posts)This was the list of top AKC registered breeds. I don't think anyone keeps track of the number of lovable "mutts" out there.

(28,394 posts)They are so lovable and sweet-tempered (compared to my cranky corgis!) I just can't manage a big dog anymore.

(72,300 posts)I plan to adopt an adult Golden when it's the right time. My current home is small but the chocolate lab I rescued 5 years ago manages to stay out from underfoot most of the time. I've only fallen over her a few times since we had to downsize. I would rather get rid of furniture than my pets.

And believe me, you do not want a Frenchie as they are the hardest and most stubborn dogs to housebreak. I have had two of the top #10 dogs, Rottweilers, which are the best dogs ever. Unfortunately, they are in doggie heaven now.

(28,394 posts)Rottweilers are excellent dogs. I was always impressed with their intelligence and trainability. Unfortunately they sometimes attract owners who don't know how to train them properly. I'm surprised they are still in the top 10. I rarely see them anymore.
