Update on my visit to the ER

First, I want to thank everyone who wished me well in the thread about my little trip to the hospital. It is much appreciated.

Second, a teeny update: I have switched from one antidepressant to another, and dropped entirely my previous medicines for cholesterol and blood pressure. I had been taking simvastatin, and one of my doctors says that's probably what was causing the problem. I am out of the hospital. I also returned to work today, and the folks there were really nice too.

So, extra big thanks to everyone!

I had quickly researched and wondered if maybe there was a change in meds.
Relieved it is simple and resolved!

I'm not a doctor, this isn't medical advice, etc...

My doctor had me discontinue simvastatin because of liver levels and has me taking Omega-3 instead (I use Ovega-3 which is a vegan one). I have to take a high dose (2g total daily... 4x what the bottle says) but it's working better than the simvastatin ever did (my good cholesterol never went up on simvastatin, it has on the omega 3, and it's having slightly better effects on the bad cholesterol too).

Best wishes to you!

I was going through things with pills with my Mom...for years she seemed to be sailing along great on a PILE of pills. Then, when she started to have some issues...sheesh, it was simvastatin, Metformin, Lisinopril, etc. that they then all of a sudden became concerned about.

They give us meds to make us better and then down the road they make us worse...go figure.

Hope your changes will all be for the better.

Glad it wasn't anything serious, but it would have been nice if you could have been warned about the side effects of dropping your meds!

Super scary!!

Pharmaceuticals can really wreck havoc with the body. The less the better.

Take flax oil or ground seeds to lower cholesterol, my MD recommended that.
