If you need a prompt to get started...Imagine if someone went back in time to prevent John Lennon's death and succeeded...but the consequences were worse than when they started? How so?

Some possibilities of twists you might consider:

-John lives. Paul dies instead.
-John lives and slowly abandons his ideals before starting a pro-Reaganomics supergroup with Neil Peart and Ted Nugent.
-John lives, Yoko dies, and John gives up music forever, going full-out recluse, barring use or performance of the Beatles catalog.

There has to be a twist. John lives and everything is happily ever after is a terrible plot; there is no conflict, climax or resolution...no point to reading or writing it.

One has only to think of the last chapter(s) of War & Peace when everybody and everything is settled down and it's boring.

unrealistic or treacly. It could have happened that way, if it weren't for that one twisted MF.
