Tom Hanks helps sell girl scout cookies.

https://celebrity.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/tom-hanks-helps-girl-scouts-sell-cookies-140816195.html

It's good to have a father figure, a positive influence to guide you through life and also to open pickle jars when they're stuck. For Cory that was Mr. Feeny. For Willis that was Conrad Bain. For America, it's Tom Hanks.

Recently, Hanks stopped to help some Girl Scouts sell cookies while on his way to the typewriter shop. Really there's not a single detail of this story that's not 100 percent delightful.

I saw him on Letterman not long ago. It was one of the most enjoyable Letterman programs in recent memory. The two of them just sat and chatted and laughed like old friends. There did not seem to be any attempt at one-upmanship or over-the-top jokes that flopped.

Hanks is a class act.

Three years ago...

I sent Tom Hanks a 1934 Smith Corona typewriter with a typed invitation to come on my podcast. This was his response.

A 20 year old that I work with saw a typewriter and didn't know what it was. True story.
