I never rinse pasta and I'm not sure why anyone would. Unless you are making a pasta salad and you want to stop the cooking and you plan to refrigerate it anyway.
The sauce guy makes everyone sound dumb. How many people wait to start the sauce until AFTER the pasta is done? You have either made a sauce already or you start one when the pasta is cooking.
