Shockingly, the world does not revolve around this outrage of the week or last week or last month, year, thousand-days...okay, the outrage of last decade is probably on-topic. Fortunately, I don't remember last decade...I was too busy getting high, drinking sophisticated gin drinks, having group sex and listening to Sunny Day Real Estate.
(This crap started all the way back on DU2 and continues forthwith. It has nothing to do with whatever group you're going on about now, unless that group is the dour wankers that wander in from GD and throw a fit that we're having fun, then alert and whine that they don't feel welcome. DU is apparently a no fun zone; how dare we have fun when there are still Republicans in existence and people getting shot by cops.)

I can blame whoever or whatever group the fuck I'd like. Currently, I blame whoever picked out the completion uniforms for the 2014 Norwegian Olympic Curling Team. Utter abomination. Also, The Clinton Global Initiative because I believe they do more harm than good globally.
Really though, if the only way you came to learn the Lounge sucks is because someone told you about my post, perhaps they should do us both a favor and spend more time worrying about their own concerns in life.

"There is no such thing as "friendly, welcoming places for everyone" and attempts to make the Lounge one made it unfriendly and unwelcoming to pretty much anybody...so a lot of people said "fuck this" and left.

when was it more interesting? back on DU2 when there was a lot of clique warfare and people being plain old mean assholes to each other? yeah it was perhaps a bit more exciting then, but it sure wasn't nice to be on the receiving end of it for those that were.
Do you mean further back when there was a lot of flirting and sexual inuendo and people were even hooking up in real life?
Or do you mean since DU3 and people like MFM worked hard to keep the funny going and posts rolling?
I doubt I ever contributed much "interesting" content, but lately I haven't been posting due to real life. I do feel kind of personally and collectively insulted that you consider those of us who are still a part of the Lounge to be fucking republicans. I mean, way to insult people you seem to want to be entertained by. 
How about you respond to the logical challenge of others above with some OPs that you do consider "interesting." It is kind of a two way street, ya know?

Some view it as a contest...which is pretty sad. I have a life. Quite a nice one actually.
Like some people flipping out over a guy jokingly saying his wife was going to rape him*, then a few days later, openly supporting the work of a man who raped a 13 year old girl and fled justice.

So true! Yet I have seen people complaining how they can't stand when a swarm is called in when they are the biggest offenders.

Other than the usual one? 
1). "DU used to be so much better" comments have been posted here as long as DU has been in existence
2). If you go back to any point in time when DU was supposedly better, you will find people posting that "DU used to be so much better" in the midst of that "better" time
3). I personally feel DU jumped the shark after Adlai Stevenson's failed Presidential campaign in 1956. I know we are not supposed to "bash" DU in the Lounge but I am confident that the majority of DUers will agree that the pre-1956 DU set a standard which has not been reached in the decades that have followed.
Opinions are like certain body parts...everybody's got one.
the lounge is a lot slower than it used to be, but at least it's not filled with land mines.
