Love Eric Burdon & War too. He's supposed to have a great autobiography. I haven't read it but hope to some time.

And the organ and guitar are one fire too.

I wonder if the deprivations of postwar Britain gave them a feel for what the Blues was all about. So many of the British Invasion bands were more deeply rooted in the Blues than almost all of their American counterparts.

I knew this kid in junior high who 'played guitar.' The only time I ever heard him play was this song. 'There is....a house.....in New Orleeeeens.' About a year later I hear him playing it. Someone asked 'Jerry, do you know any other songs?' He replied 'No.'
