Daily Holidays - September 27

National Chocolate
Milk Day National Chocolate Milk Day is observed annually on September 27. This is a day to enjoy a tall, frosty glass of chocolate goodness. Chocolate milk is loved by people of all ages!

Invented by Hans Sloane in the later 1680s, chocolate milk can be purchased premixed or it can be made at home with either cocoa powder and a sweetener or with melted chocolate, chocolate syrup or chocolate milk mix.

While Sloane was in Jamaica he encountered cocoa where the locals there drank it mixed with water. After trying it, he was reported to have founded it nauseating. Sloane then found a way to mix the cocoa with milk to make it more pleasant tasting. Upon returning to England, he brought the chocolate recipe back with him. Now people enjoy this delicious drink everyday. http://nationaldaycalendar.com/latest-posts/

National Corned Beef
Hash Day Making corned beef hash is a great way to use up leftovers. Corned beef hash became popular during and after World War II as rationing limited the availability of fresh meat. http://nationaldaycalendar.com/latest-posts/

Ancestor Appreciation Day Many of us are completely unaware of our ancestors and the lives they lived, yet they almost certainly went a long way towards shaping our habits, traditions and values today. Fortunately, the annually-celebrated Ancestor Appreciation Day gives people a reminder to learn more about those who came before us. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/ancestor-appreciation-day/

Crush A Can Day You know you want to, so don’t hold back when it comes to squashing those cans on Crush a Can Day. Not only does this day give you the opportunity of crushing, squeezing and bending cans into satisfyingly small shapes, it’s also a chance to share can compression fun with family and friends. A fantastic stress buster, can squashing is also a great way to get more cans into a smaller space at recycling facilities, so get squishing those cans! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/crush-a-can-day/

World Tourism Day There’s nothing quite as frustrating as tourists, right? Busy streets, jostling crowds and endless questions about directions are enough to drive you mad, but it’s important to recognise the importance of tourists and tourism on a local economy. Tourism Day promotes an awareness of just how important tourism is at driving local trade, culture, and keeping historical and local interest sites open to the public – tourists and residents alike. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/tourism-day/

As long as I can add tons of diced onions and fry it in bacon drippings, I'm happy.

And when is that damn eclipse? I thought it was last night and I kept checking, but no eclipse. Tonight will probably be too cloudy.

however, this is part of a great cosmic conspiracy to make you miss the eclipse. It has to do with pinboy3niner and snicker bars.

We are not allowed to discuss it any further....

Thanks, I feel better now.
