The commentary track on the DVD is just as funny as the movie itself!

Made me think of Fernwood 2 Nite, a hilarious talk show spoof. A forgotten comedy also! It would be great if it were released on dvd.

Couple buds would come over most nights and twist up a couple of buds for the surrealistic wonderfulness that was Mary Hartman.

Fernwood 2-nite and America 2-nite as well.

Vibes
with Cyndi Lauper, Jeff Goldblum and Peter Falk (I never knew Cyndi Lauper made a movie until I found the video in a thrift store).

Stay Tuned
with John Ritter and Pam Dawber

I'm not saying these are great comedies but they have their moments.

Citizen Ruth
Now this movie is hilarious! Laura Dern should have gotten nominated for an Oscar for this one...

Someone asked me what it was about and I said it was a comedy about abortion. They said "WHAT?" I don't really know how else to describe it though. Laura Fern really had some guts to do that role.

Cyndi Lauper and Jeff Goldblum had some great lines

Nick Deezy: (In bed, Hillary removes her panties and hands them to Nick) Another man has been holding these panties. You know I can tell.
Hillary: It's, it's my father.
Nick Deezy: What?
Hillary: He did my laundry for me, I swear.
Nick Deezy: Your father's a professional hockey player who scored two goals that night... and an assist?

Sylvia Pickel: What's your problem, aside from your face?

Nick Deezy: Yes, one moment please but an important one. We've been through stretch, stretch-aroo, next it'll be stretch-mark... where will it end?

Harry Buscafusco: May I ask, why d'ya keep a shotgun in your apartment?
Sylvia Pickel: It's not really mine. An old boyfriend left it here.
Harry Buscafusco: Why did he keep it?
Sylvia Pickel: I don't really know. You don't ask a guy named Icepick too many questions.

was The Governor & J.J.

Featuring a rather conservative State Governor and his somewhat Flower Child Daughter J.J. who either worked or volunteered at the local Zoo. I think it ran one or two seasons in the late 1960"s.

Some episodes were hysterically funny. Too bad this series seems to be almost completely gone.
