"Not a sermon - just a thought" is a crock. of. shit.

Do you have something similar on broadcast radio in your area?

Here in the Washington, DC metro area, the pastor of McLean Bible Church (I think) comes on with a concentrated altar call. The latest, just heard, included this line: "You know, it seems to me that the only way to not be afraid to live is to not be afraid to die." (best I can remember)

Then the pitch: the only way to be not afraid to die is "through Christ." WTF is this "through" business? There's a local carpet business here in Southern Maryland whose motto, printed on its trucks, is "Serving Jesus Christ Through Carpeting."

Not a sermon. Just a thought.

PS I'm an atheist but am not anti-Christian, or even anti-religion. I respect your right to worship.

Unfortunately, each time I listen to the radio, it is usually while driving to work or some place else.

I can NOT DROP KICK anything while driving for fear of some sort of collision.

So sadly, I suck it up, and change the station for a quick second.

Unfortunately once more, when I do, I end up hearing something from Selena, Bieber, or maybe even Bad Blood from TSwift... I don't know what's worse.

But I think Mrs. V. would be sad if I drop kicked her new receiver.

"Bad Blood" - please tell me she didn't record Neil Sedaka's song. That's one of the worst songs ever written.

It sounds so childish.
Though my niece loves it, so I learned it for her in the ukulele.

That is Uncle love right there.

She'll remember you for all her life. Even if she grows to regret loving that song.

She loves perching on my shoulder.

I dread the day that she would be too heavy for me to do that for.

Since I was a youngin once too, I know that I regret nothing when liking something, so perhaps she won't as well. That is ok.

Though getting back to that Not a Sermon thing...
Drop kicking is not the best idea, but it is fun to think about.
