(53,339 posts)When I lived in Northern Virginia I loved going to Rehoboth and renting a room in one of the many converted homes about that same distance from the boardwalk. And I fantasized about what it would be like to live there in the off-season.

(23,340 posts)the lake effect. When my family lived in the Detroit area, it was considerably sunnier. A cold winter day with sunshine is a lot less depressing.
However, I'm not sure that there is a lot to do in the Rehoboth area in the wintertime. A friend that retired to Cape May was disappointed by how much was closed. And, you will get some snow, and some serious storms.
