Abandoned kitten found with note: 'My mommy's boyfriend is mean to me'

SEATTLE, Wash. — A tiny kitten has been rescued from a Seattle alleyway after being left in a box along with a heartbreaking note.

The Daily Mail reports that Rachel Bjork was walking her dog when they came upon the box. She opened it up and found a scared orange and white kitten inside. Written on the flap of the box in a child's handwriting was a note that read: 'My mommy’s boyfriend is mean to me. Desperet for loving home.[sic]'

The nearly 2 month old kitten was taken to the vet and then to the MEOW cat rescue in Kirkland. Although it was on the thin side, the little furball appears to be healthy.

'The baby is now in a foster home with other kittens of similar age and doing very well,' the organization wrote on their Facebook page.

The man hitting the kitten was most likely hit as a child.
Damn. Some nasty things you know of in life are just not going to leave.

Just because my dad is a piece of crap doesn't mean I need to be one. Instead I can take joy in when my cat curls up next to me because she trusts and loves me. There's no challenge in hitting something that can't hit back (not that one should generally hit things that can hit back either).

This could have been much worse. Sounds like it was done in haste. Hopefully the woman will save herself as well.

If this was indeed the act of a child in the home, I hope someone can make sure the child is safe.

If a woman in an abusive relationship did this, then may she get out.

I am glad the kitten is safe, and my heart goes to whomever made the gallant move to get it to safety.
