Not necessarily fav song (prob would be Kinks Waterloo Sunset if I had to choose) but definitely best video - choreography, stomping beat, wonderfully evocative of a bygone era - what more do you need!

I mean, when he did "A Hard Road" with Mayall he was following Clapton at a time when people were spray painting "CLAPTON IS GOD" on stone walls in England and he DELIVERED. I thought "Hard Road" was just as good as "Bluesbreakers," maybe even a little better, because it was weirder and looser.

Then came Fleetwood Mac...WOW. What the hell could that man have accomplished if he had just followed his trajectory and not short-circuited? I know he came back in later years but it was a tamer, more traditional Green. "Then Play On" still sounds like an adventure to this day.

now! Song was not a huge hit back in the day, at least here in the Midwest USA, and pics of him did not adorn the pages of my fav-est teeny bopper mags like Tiger Beat. What a cutie - who knew!

He discovered a guitarist name Aalon who was a Hendrix disciple and recorded an album under the "Eric Burdon Band" called "Sun Secrets." They went nuts on extended versions of a few Animals oldies plus some originals. The CD version includes their second and final album, Stop, which I didn't care for as much because the cuts were all short.

...I have a friend, who, about ten years back, used to do merchandising for all sorts of bands based in the Los Angeles area, and was a good friend of Eric.

Eric would get a little buzzed, so to speak, and leave very interesting messages on my friend's answering machine.

When my friend decided to leave the US, he left the answering machine with me. Someday I need to dig it up out of storage, and see if I can transfer those messages to wav or mp3, for easy access and a unique form of entertainment.
