A Little Weird
(1,754 posts)I haven't been to Baskin Robbins in ages.

(21,551 posts)a single scoop was 27¢ and a double scoop 50¢. (Which are the equivalent of $1.06 and $1.96 today, if you belive the .gov's inflation calculator).

Thank you for the history. Back then I think my parents used to pay for it and I never knew the real cost.

(21,551 posts)But I worked in the B-R on Central Avenue in Phoenix in 1977, and a single scoop was 27¢, double 50¢, whether you had it on a cone or in a cup. 5¢ extra per scoop if you had Chocolate Fudge or French Vanilla - don't know why those flavors cost more, but they did. You would think the popular Pralines & Cream would cost more, due to the expensive pecans in it. I got paid a whopping $1.75 per hour then. By the way, Paul Westphal, who was a player on the Phoenix Suns in those days, walked in there every morning for a double-scoop cone! He was often the first customer of the day.
Sorry, I don't believe the Inflation index thing... I do believe in your memory. Thanks for adding more information!
