(24,146 posts)i just love showing off my kittehs
my big boy. we brought him home from the shelter last may after losing our fat cat in march. he's a damned fine boy.
my sweet, little puppeh kitteh. she and i have been together for ten years, but it was only supposed to be one. i took in her and fat cat when my bestie went to study in germany for a year. well, one year turned into two, which turned into five, which turned into she's still over there. she's dumb as a sack of hammers but she is the sweetest thing you will ever meet.
they get along reasonably well
at least most of the time
my sweet fat cat. there's not a day that goes by that i don't miss her.

(8,554 posts)she's been with us for one month, tomorrow.
And she's already got a heart...
(notice the marking on her side)
I don't really need another heart, since there are still some DUers who haven't gotten any, yet.
I just want to show off one beautiful loving kitty! She was left behind, abandoned by her original owners and on her own at that house for more than a year, with kind neighbors feeding her occasionally, ending up at a shelter when that property sold, then briefly passed around to numerous other people who didn't much want her, ...she's an incredibly sweet creature, considering what she's been thru.

(26,582 posts)I have three cats, the avatar is my big (17 lbs) baby. He'll be 14 in July. He's dopey and lovey dovey. He was never a lap cat until I brought home a kitten a year an a half ago. Since then he claims his dominance by always sitting in my lap.

(31,374 posts)my rescue dog. She's a mix of American Eskimo and Golden Retriever, I was told. I adopted her six years ago, when she was three. Rescued out of a Georgia high kill shelter by
a South Carolina German Shepherd rescue group (they'd been told she might be white shepherd--so they went and got her) and now she lives in North Carolina!

(8,554 posts)I wish that I could take decent pics of our critters; none of my photos of any of them have ever done them the beautiful justice they deserve. Snowy's head on that toy is so sweet!
The new rescue kitty we've just taken in (pictured in my reply above) is also a multi-state traveler, with a couple of very long journeys already under her belt. Whole lotta stress for an animal not quite two years old.

(31,374 posts)That is so cute that Sweet Pea has a heart!
Squirrel is Snowy's favorite toy: she takes him from room to room following me around all day. She was patiently resting
by my desk --when I got down on the floor to take this shot--while my son was helping get my new laptop set up.

Suckin' da Thumb
He did that his whole life. He would fold his right front paw at the wrist..always the right...and suck on it, sometimes for hours, content as can be.
Thing is, he would drool as he did it so wherever he did it he would leave a wet spot!
He'll be gone 12 years this summer and I still miss him each and every day.
He was the most gregarious dog I ever knew. He didn't have a mean bone in his body and just simply loved everyone he met.
