For us it is Mrs. Lib's birthday and almost always a disaster. We are expecting half a foot of snow.

5. It's great when work goes well

I'm teaching two sections of one of those sorta-real-math-for-folk-who-hate-math courses, and there's a wide spread of ability and background in both sections

I warned everybody on the first day that some of them will find the class too easy sometimes because I have obligations to the people who learn the stuff slowly and that others of them will find the class too hard sometimes because I also have obligations to the people who learn the stuff quickly

An interesting dynamic has developed: in both sections, some of the quicker learners are hanging around after class to help some of the slower learners
