Has anyone ever had a co-dependant cat. My cat I rescued as a feral is. More so than bottle fed...

kittens I've raised. When I go outside he follows me. When I come home he has to be picked up and held for 5 minutes. He's worse than the dog. I don't mind but it's just strange for an adult formerly feral cat. He's about 14 years old and a gorgeous orange and white tabby.

the cat in the lower left corner was a definite lap kitty. She required my undivided attention. I'm also a cat magnet and all the cats are drawn to me..

I think she'd missed me when I was at college. She started always greeting me at the door and would meow nonstop for me to pay attention to her. I carried her around with me as much as possible. I was pretty flattered.

I currently have three kitties and one is my little shadow, always curled up next to me when I'm working, cooking, reading, working out or watching TV.

4. I do recall having a cat all my boyfriends feared.

He was a very large cat, and when I sat on the couch with a boyfriend he would curl 'curl' up on the top of the couch and growl...He would even attack me when I walked down the hall...

I think he thought I was his kitten...maybe because my name was kitty?

I will never forget him...he saved me from a few potential bad marriages

back when I was dating, if my cat didn't like the guy, I never went on another date with him.

if we let him go outside I'd never get away from him.

He picked me out at the shelter and we've been tight ever since

I first noticed him when he snatched a bird off my feeder. I left food out so he would leave the birds alone. One night when it was sleeting in Jan, he started howling on my porch. I let him in and he ate and then jumped on my lap. He is my glue kitty now.

10. The funniest thiing to me is how much my dog and cat love each other.

He was just a 7 month old puppy snatched off death row on the last day. I had no idea how he would interact with the cat. Tyler slapped in the face and the dog just settled down and now they groom each other and sleep with each other.

I had him on a muzzle fearing he would harm my kitties..he almost ignored them...I reluctantly took off the muzzle when I was around...

Eventually he was a member of the family...he could not have cared less about the kitties...

He was my baby till I had to put him down 10 years later cause he had spinal cancer...I sat with him as they injected him...and cried for a month!

Hell, I'm still crying.

13. Ya know, I sat with both of those kitttys as they died

I cried two days...and I loved them every much as I loved my poochy.

But there is something different between the love of a dog and the love of a kitty..

I have always had kittys in my life...and only one dog...I have no idea why my love of my dog surpassed the love of my kitties...I took care of them equally, and petted and loved my kittys till they died.

But when my poochy died I cried for him even longer than I cried for my mother??

Trotting behind or aside me. Leading when returning home. Had three kittens, one had died inside. Would yeowl if I had no body part less than two feet from her for those 24 hours. I slept on the floor. Finally went to the vet.

Strange cat. Dogs are not as loyal as this cat.

Unless it is night where he will curl up beside me in bed most recently. He's a funny guy and likes to jump on me or across me like I'm a piece of furniture and I have the scratch marks to prove it. He's so good at purring when I talk and play the same games with him every night. Our routine is very ingrained. So much so he tries to anticipate my every move. I like routine too.
