Just a photo to make you smile....

I rescued two cats from a concrete balcony apartment in the hood. She had 12 kittens, we kept one and found good homes for the others. I searched for dogs that were protective and good with cats. not what I expected....she is now 7 and I would not ever have another breed, even if she follows me into the bathroom. gawd. German Shepherd--straight back.

3. Awwwww! What a cutie!

My dog is good with everyone, too, good thing since I now also have a cat. He was a pet shop rescue, fostered at the animal emergency clinic, so he pretty much got used to other creatures - and people.

7. Awww...

look at the size of those paws! She's going to be a big girl!

My rescue dogs have always been good with our kitties. No more kitties in our house since
the kitty boys, Mouse and Simba, went over the Rainbow Bridge several years ago.
Snowy--our current rescue dog--wouldn't mind having another kitty (Simba was still with
us when we adopted Snowy), but for now, we have been traveling as much as possible
and it's easier to either take Snowy with us or let her go to the Pet Resort (which she loves)
than trying to find someone to pet sit at home for 2-3 weeks at a time with a kitty.
Perhaps when we're done traveling, it will be time for another kitty.

8. I had a dog.........

an apricot poodle (rescued her from the pound). I don't know exactly what she had done, but I told her "no" and she kept yapping. I went into the bathroom, she pried the door open and kept yapping, I looked down at her and said "I told you no". It was like having a 2 year old.

But I loved her.

10. Nasha and Ace...

Nasha was our last German Shepherd. The last in a line of 5.
Beau, Studs, Max, Gypsy, and Nasha.

Ace was the black cat that showed up at the back door one night.
Ace LOVED Nasha.
Alas, it was unrequited love.

Ace would head butt Nasha and wind in and out of her legs, rubbing, rubbing.
And Nasha would just walk away.

Nasha would lie down and Ace would try to curl up inside her legs and Nasha would just get up and walk away.

I felt so sorry for Ace. He liked all dogs.
Neighborhood dogs didn't chase him because he didn't run.
He just head butted and rubbed.
Confused the hell out of them.
