Cat people: advance notice / request for a stray male possibly needing a home
Hi all -
I'm feeding a semi-feral male at my office; he's trusting me more every day but I have yet to be able to pet him.
Anyway - I'd like to catch him sometime this summer, have him neutered and checked out for FIV. If he's negative, he can be the outdoor office cat after he's been neutered, vaccinated, etc. My office is in a quiet cul-de-sac and he has many different ports of call around here where he nests / rests.
However, if' he's FIV+ and tame / loving, I'd like to find someone who could offer him a home. Especially if you are familiar with the health needs of cats with FIV.
I have many cats of my own, including a territorial male, and wouldn't want to bring an FIV+ cat into an FIV- feline household.
So - this is just advance notice, if you know of anyone who accepts FIV+ cats or if you would be willing to take him yourself.
Again, I don't know his FIV status. I just don't want to have to scramble when I do know his status if he is a carrier; I'm trying to be "proactive" and do some planning if necessary.

By the way, we're located in Virginia. I'd transport him to a loving home into any of the surrounding states or find other transport if need be.
