How I broke my.thumb: the further adventures of Spotty Bottom
Did I mention that I broke my thumb?
Well, probably not because the last installment in this saga was before I was aware that I had, indeed broken my thumb. But I did.
As you will recall from the last episode, My Ass in the Cemetery, that an ass has a mind of its own and can, in fact be a real smart ass. There are probably more than a few of those wandering around here in the Lounge at any given time ... but, I digress.
When we finally got Spotty calmed down --that is, the first time we got him calmed down to get a hold of his halter we quickly realized that this was not a smart move.
Spotty bolted all of a sudden like ... leaving two grown men in the dirt. I jammed my thumb pretty hard.
After we finally got Spotty penned up in our back yard I noticed that my whole thumb was black and blue. . I had already noticed tha it hurt like Hades. Ipretty much expected a bad bruise. So I thought I would tough it out.
No, I did not need to go to the doctor.
Over the next.few days the black and blue was mostly gone, my thumb was still much larger than my other thumb. But NO, Idid not need to see a doctor!
Two weeks later I was sitting talking to the nurse practitioner ... she sent me to get an xray. ... and as it turned out -- it is broken with probable joint involvement.
I have an appointment to see the orthopedic specialist.
I need a hug
