1994's MOST BIZARRE SUICIDE - Fuckin' unbelievable

You gotta read this twisted story of suicide/murder - but here's the short version---

Guy jumps off roof , despondent over his mother cutting off his financial support. On the way down to his presumed death , he is killed by a shotgun blast from an elderly couple arguing in their 9th floor apartment. HOWEVER, unknown to him was that on that very day safety nets had been erected on the 8th floor for the window washing to be done that day.

NOW the kicker - the elderly couple had routinely got into arguments and the husband had "playfully" (Yes, it is stupid) pointed and pulled the trigger of an unloaded shotgun at his beloved. BUT, unbeknownst to him, his son had loaded the shotgun with live ammo in the hopes that the old man would kill his wife who had cut off the son's financial support and the old man would be jailed for murder thus paving his way to their money. YES, that guy who jumped.

Was given at a conference as to what COULD happen in such a trial:

"The case was originally told by Don Harper Mills, then president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, in a speech at a banquet in 1987. After it began to circulate on the Internet as a factual story and attained the status of urban legend, Mills stated that he made it up as an illustrative anecdote[1] "to show how different legal consequences can follow each twist in a homicide inquiry".[2]"

Apologies to all I misled, still interesting that this story was the basis for a few TV crime shows.
