opinions on cat/kittens cage/playpen please

Which of these types of cages/playpens do you think is better? more comfy? etc.

If you were a cat or kittens, which one would you prefer as a temporary safe place? (asking about this because considering fostering).

thank you.

If it's big enough to put a litter box on the floor, it's big enough to house them for a temporary stay.

Pictures please!

there will be beds
there will be tunnels
there will be pillows
there will be scratchers
there will be balls that they can never get out of the track
there will be dangly feathery things
there will be mice (well, not real ones)
there will be treats

Cats like their safe places to be ones they "can't be seen in." Both of those are wide open. I would just throw a few old cardboard boxes in strategic locations. You can get them very cheap and cats like them.

Also...put a hammock in the cage. Seriously. I was at a shelter that had a cage like that one, with a hammock in it. It looked like there were maybe four sleeping kittens in the hammock. "Wait for it." Then the kitties started to wake up...there were at least a dozen kittens in the hammock when they woke up.

over it. That was a suggestion of the people I was fostering with. The cage was against the wall and I left the blanket off during the day, but put it on at night for them to feel safe when they slept.

And yes, I had beds and toys in the cage so they could be comfy.

I've also connected cages together….leaving one for dirt box use, for example, and another (or two) for living. You could go to a pet equipment store and experiment…

Thank you for fostering, but I hope there's another way to care for them than caging them. Cats, like all beings, need room to move. If kept caged too long, they'll suffer physically, mentally and emotionally. This is why good shelters have open "rooms" now, rather than cages. Cats can socialize with each other and with humans, and also have little nooks and crannies and beds to escape to for some quiet time.

If you absolutely must cage them, you'll have to figure out what works in your home. It's hard to make recommendations without knowing how many cats and/or kittens, how long they'll be with you, what kind of room they'll be in, why they need to be caged, etc.

Fostering is a wonderful thing! Thank you again.

the cage I parrot sat an [link:]in. Hilariously funny bird - I was likely the only person that could stroke her feathers without losing a finger. She was beautiful and smarter than hell.

The first one looks like a kitty haven

Looks like links are screwed up.

Bird looked like this:

Gorgeous girl, red african grey. Absolute goofball, but just a pleasure to work with - she was so silly
