My commuter car circa 1990: The Mercury Mexican Mazda

Mercury named it the "Tracer"!
It was assembled at a Mazda factory somewhere in Mexico.

I drove it about once a month from southern New Hampshire to JFK.
Four hours, each way.

Kinda cramped for my 6' 3" frame, but it had everything I needed.
A/C and HEAT!
Automatic transmission.
AM/FM RADIO!

Cruise?
Get real.
Bluetooth?
Hunh?

It was incredibly cheap because it was two 'good' halves of wrecked vehicles joined together.

I dunno.
The guy was a genius.
It ran like a top.

One for summer - A/C works, - reliable, great gas mileage.

One for winter - 4WD Champ with a great heater (I keep the studded snow tires in the summer when it's "off insurance&quot
