This group captivated me from the beginning. Good chemistry and fresh talent. Highly recommend it.

(16,334 posts)I love Mondo, but did you see some of his outfits during the auditions? He looked like a little kid playing dress up. If that's fashion, we may as well let 6 year olds on the loose at Mood.
Gonna watch the rest later...

(46,701 posts)Some weeks they want to see "over the top." Like this first challenge - The unconventional challenge. Def not the week to be a minimalist.
On the other hand, when they want their artists to dress ordinary women, they frown on those who can't dress ordinary figures.
Every week it's different.

(112,140 posts)It may have been because it was the unconventional challenge, but the designs were fairly dull with the winner barely finishing her dress in the nick of time and looking like a furry banana with the bubble gum knobs.
While there were three or four designers that attempted to help other designers, from the preview it looks like next week will revert to the same formula of two designers despising each other. It will take a few more weeks before the various sides fall into formation as their personalities grate on each other.

(46,701 posts)Sewing machine. This group seems to have the basics down. And I do see creativity being a factor.

(112,140 posts)it makes it more difficult to see if there were construction issues since they use the glue gun more often than they sew. At least the guy that was eliminated had a straight hem on his dress (at least as viewed from the front). I guess we will find out more next week.

(46,701 posts)I didn't know what to think about the guy who was eliminated. Personality-wise, he was the least interesting. And his designs that flashed on screen on his exit looked bland and granola. His competition dress looked like a sack with cut outs for the armholes and head. It wasn't even fitted.
You can only do so much with an unconventional challenge. I would rather get it out of the way this early rather than knock out a talented fashion-designer midway through the competition.
The glitter pants guy didn't do a bad job. He just put together a disjointed outfit. He deserved a second chance.

(112,140 posts)such as some curves along the front and back, along with doing the bills from the caps that he cut out. It would have provided the cohesion that the judges wanted. I agree that the judges on who was eliminated. It was pretty obvious that there was not much there of interest.
