But the one that took the cake was the designer who didn't know how to use a sewing machine. She was used to sewing everything by hand.

Compare that to the season where one of the contestants could blow out a dress in half the time the others could.

It's as if being able to sew well is beneath them because they are "designers". I remember one telling Tim Gunn, when he commented on her poor construction, that she was a DESIGNER not a "sample sewer". She didn't win, even though she was already working as a sportswear designer in China.
