(88 posts)This is an old hoax of sorts. It shows an astonishing lack of understanding of even basic astrology.
Begin here:
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2107207-no-nasa-hasnt-changed-the-zodiac-signs-or-added-a-new-one/
And then learn about astrology on any of countless sites. You'll discover that there is a difference between signs and constellations. We call them "star signs" at times, but astrology is about how the planets affect us, not the actual stars. We can count planets, stars are, quite literally, countless. (Many astrologers also look at the effects of various asteroids as well as planets, but that's a more advanced lesson.)
No one's astrological sign has changed. And you can't tell much from just a basic sun sign, anyway. You have to look at your natal chart and get it interpreted by a competent astrologer. Lastly, please know that the "stars" (meaning planets!) impel, they do not compel. What we learn from astrology is more about gaining insight into ourselves, our world and our places in the world. Astrology is just one tool for understanding these things.

(53,339 posts)The universe may change, but your sign is fixed. Only those born after the universe changes get new signs.
2nd, I have no idea what astrology-believing nutjobs are saying, so I'll refer you to #16--if you can make sense of that.

(88 posts)That's one of the misconceptions about astrological sun signs. Astrologically speaking, "who you are" is comprised of much more than your sun sign. If Cancer seems to fit you better, then I'd guess you have a lot of Cancer in your natal chart. OR, if you're born on or near the cusp, only a natal chart from date, time and place of birth can clarify which you are. This is because the actual date and time of a sign change varies from year to year.
Some, or perhaps many, astrologers utilize precession for determining current trends and for forecasting, which can also clarify that sense that a person is more X than Y.
It's worth mentioning that no one is 100% anything. Even DNA testing shows us that we are much more than we thought we were. But even with ideas and opinions, if we're honest, a caveat can always be discovered. There just aren't any absolutes, whether in astrology or medicine or, or, or...
NASA has not, not, not added anything to astrology. Why anyone would think NASA has any interest in astrology is a notion that defies even basic common sense. With the world at our fingertips, it's easy to do just a modicum of research about this. Moreover, there isn't one astrologer* who uses this "new" sign (which doesn't exist in astrology).
*astrologer = Professional with years of training and certification by at least one seriously-recognized organization
Lastly, Shakespeare's wrote in "Hamlet": There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. The world is an amazing place and when we seek with open minds, we get to accept or reject new ides. But without personal study and experience, it's foolish to ignore the experiences and knowledge of others.
