and a huge ray picked itself up from the bottom and, with a flick of its fins, disappeared from view.

A truly beautiful, elegant creature. Just stunning.

I'd seen plenty of smaller ones. But this one with its size and power...

We dove with Manta Rays in Hawaii - spectacular!

What was most beautiful about this one is that it was completely unexpected (the Manta Rays we were expecting)

damn painful for a couple of hours - up there with the worst painI have ever felt and I get stung regularly by bees, wasps, scorpions, and harvester ants.

including booties and gloves so I wasn't too concerned but the guys diving in bathing suits - I'll pass!
