The NFL is now disputing the previous story. If you watched the game, you know there were at least 4, maybe 5 bad calls that went against the Cowboys. The Cowboys were robbed.

(1,213 posts)...a tough team built on cheating and cheap tricks.

(4,033 posts)I am a Steelers fan. Almost every Steelers fan hates New England most of it because of their cheating and their "protection" by Roger Godell.
What I find interesting about Godell is that he hates the Steelers even though he attended college @ Washington & Jefferson College about 20 miles from Heinz Field. Also he never played football at any level, nor has he held any job other than with the NFL. He started with an internship & never left.

(1,213 posts)At this point I just want to see a good, hard-played, well officiated game. That shouldn't be too much to ask for!!

I pray to whatever gods may or may not exist that the Packers lose to the Falcons.

(17,255 posts)We all know Mason Crosby would have been successful on that field goal attempt, even if it has been from 66 yards instead of 51.
Just kidding!

(14,272 posts)I don't necessarily think the games are fixed. I don't question the integrity of the referees. Sometimes they miss calls and sometimes they get it wrong.

(1,213 posts)at the professional level. However, the years and experience it takes to become a professional football official are daunting. It seems like they could and should be doing a more professional job: they are the cream of the crop after all. More than 1-2 major errors in any one game is unacceptable.

(14,852 posts)I was kind of rooting for the Cowboys just for Ezekiel Elliott's sake, but I didn't really care that much.
At least there was an apology. I've watched too much football over the years and seen plenty of screwed up calls.
A referee claiming that he blew a play dead with his whistle, to avoid an obvious turnover by fumble, is one of the most aggravating. It takes replay out of it too.

And, yeah, the calls were absolutely atrocious!

(4,756 posts)Don't watch, haven't watched in years. I am a Bears fan and I don't even watch them.
The cheaters, the wife beaters, the child abusers, the animal abusers or the greedy billionaire owners demanding the taxpayers fund their business, not sure why anyone watches at all.
I used to have a rule when watching, three strikes and it is turned off. The strikes being the obvious game massaging they do to keep it interesting. It is all about the $$$$.
Fuck the NFL.

(1,714 posts)where the jersey was pulled off the shoulder of the Packers receiver, and there was no holding call?
How about the previous game when Leon Hall took out Jordy Nelson and received no penalty?
Missed calls on all sides. Shit happens. Get over it.

(1,213 posts)the integrity of the result. I don't like to see it in any game.
I am over it and I will be rooting for Atlanta now.
If Green Bay goes to the Super Bowl, I'll be rooting for them.
Don't care for New England or Pittsburg much.

(1,213 posts)No team is perfect, although the Patriots come close sometimes. The officiating should be above reproach.
I think the coaching and play calls were just fine:

(9,527 posts)their wins are as worthless as Lance Armstrong's. There isn't anybody involved with that organization who has an ounce of integrity.

(1,213 posts)-that's why they seem so perfect and unbeatable. There are hordes of Patriots fans here in Alaska, and if you're looking for a fight, mention how the Patriots are cheaters!

(46,301 posts)I live in Wisconsin, and on Sunday the Pack plays Atlanta.
And Jordy Nelson was taken out with a cheap shot, a deliberate helmet to the ribs that broke several.
