My Virgin Post
Glad to be part of this forum. As a recently retired 28 year blue collar guy , and a die hard liberal originally from Ohio, but now living in a small Southern Oregon town(very red area!!), I, like many of you were horrified by our election results. I'm hoping this forum will be therapeutic for me, as well as educational. I hope I can add some insight to some of the very intelligent posts I have already had the pleasure of reading. Maybe in some way we can all contribute to an enduring movement , that will finally relegate the far right to the outer reaches of society where they belong. We can't let these people get away with what they are getting away with. This is NOT normal!!!

Like you I am a DU posting newbie but have a lot of fight in me because I have know how to roll with the punches and fight back harder.
I am a Fight Veteran who knows the game and send you and yours words of comfort and hope in these very dismal and dreary days 45 has set upon the world.
You are not alone.
I hated when this DU forum was hacked into just before 11/8/16 and all of us had no means to communicate our feelings, concerns, etc. regarding the Presidential Election.(VERY SUSPICIOUS!!!)

Sorry to know you're living in that very red area. I do too, unfortunately, but have been on DU for a few years and find it to be the place of sanity and safety I need. Hope you do as well, and I'm encouraged that you are committed to keeping our nation safe and sane. Goes for Oregon, too. Remember our state motto: She Flies With Her Own Wings. To which I say, long may she soar!
