I still wouldn't touch the woman. Ugh.

She should have used diet and exercise to lose the weight.

I think some cable channel came across her as a contestant when they had a reality show that followed a little kid beauty pageant circuit. Then she ended up with her own show.

I just picked this up over the years. I could be mistaken on the details. Her tag line was I'll holler for a dollar or something like that.

A thousand dollar size 12 dress is labelled a 4, maybe a 6. Fact.

A US size 4 is-

Bust - 32-34
Waist - 22-24
Hip - 33-35

Pretty damn small, especially the hip measurememnt. That is like no hips.

I'm obese. I've been a size 18 and I'm bigger now. She was a size 22-24, possibly bigger.

She says she worked her ass off and no she's eating healthier after the weight loss surgery. Good for her, but her daughters are still heavy. What's she feeding them?

and I can relate to what you are saying. I used to do deep squats with heavy weights from my late-20s to my mid-30s. After years of doing that, my knees were just screaming, so I stopped. My favorite exercise these days is the elliptical (with a fair bit of tension), because it's low impact. Even so, there are times when I kneel and my knees are still barking.

It makes me think back to when my wife and I took my parents on a cruise about 10 years ago. We were on a shore excursion and it involved a lot of walking. My folks were in their mid-60s and we stopped a couple of times for my dad's sake. He needed a few breaks. We got back to the ship later that afternoon. When I went to their room to call on them for dinner, my dad was relaxed on the bed. I told them there was some great entertainment in the theater that night and my wife and I were hopeful they'd join us. My dad said no. He was going to the dining room, eating his dinner and then going straight to bed because he was exhausted. I later said to my mom, rather incredulously, "All we did today was walked!" She was a bit tired as well, but not as much as dad.

Anyway, with each passing year I get closer to knowing how dad felt. My energy level and stamina is not what it was a decade ago or two decades ago. Time takes its toll. But I'm not dead yet either!

What you did took courage and strength.

You lost weight, you didn't lose yourself.

You have always been awesome.

Besides, it's how you feel about your journey that matters.

I think you should be walking on air every day. You did what so many people can't do and you did it the best way possible.

Earning every pound lost and every pride & feel-good point gained.

Yes, you used to be overweight and somewhere in your mind you always will be.

But, please, don't ever let that voice take away from who you are and what you have accomplished.

I've read that thread a few times since first posted and I find you to be inspiring.

What an amazing lot of work and dedication to your wellbeing you did! I'm deeply impressed with how hard you worked to become a healthier person. You make me want to go to the gym right now. Lol!

Congratulations on becoming an inspiration to many, many others who embark on a similar journey. Without those such as yourself who helped show its possible, some may never begin!

She use to weigh, I think, some 400 pounds and got the lap band surgery. The before and after pictures show a sharp contrast in her appearance.
I think it's amazing.

I'm not sure there is anything to celebrate - until she gets her head out of the sand, apologizes to her kids and learns something about how to live right. IMO, she's a disgrace.
