in a sales and marketing strategy to boost sales of the new CD/DVD. Most videos playing official beatles tracks and albums were purged. After the official launch of official videos, other beatles songs/albums videos are creeping back in.

Non-EMI beatles stuff like videos of live appearances, concerts, etc were not removed, only songs, full albums, movie clips lifted directly from original recordings.

VEVO is a youtube marketing company licensed by EMI to promote beatles official releases. It also licenses music from other recording conglomerates

and yes, it is the Beatles. I think this was a tape they made that was played on Ed Sullivan along with one for Strawberry Fields. Back before videos were routine.
