(66,294 posts)put on the DVD's of the original trilogy films, and set the language to Spanish or French. Darth Vader in those languages is a crack-up...

He was an absolute delight to meet, and i will treasure that memory always.

(2,533 posts)My Mom worked on the original Star Wars. I was a teenager who couldn't care less(oh well) and ended up with a short job at George Lucas's mansion/ studio in San Anselmo iirc.
The job was storing away the props & items used in the original film on storage racks. Most everything was labeled in cardboard boxes. In one box was a pair of bricks. George was attending asked I be careful with them(??)
I wondered out loud why they wanted to save these and he grinned and said it was the voice of Darth Vader. He held the bricks up & rubbed them together making the "breathing" noise from his helmet.
True story but when I got married I realized I should have kept some of the memento's. She is / was a huge fan & has a large collection of the toys etc...
Just never gave a dang-I was into anything with a motor back then.
Speaking of that-There was a clapped out but obviously well equipped Camaro at his mansion. A sleeper & I commented I liked it. It was George's personal car back then-low key & a real badass under the hood. That I admired more than any of his films.
Thanks for sharing that!

Dave Prowse didn't sound remotely Scottish.
