They would watch if i was headed toward the door.

One I taught to beg, sit, lay down, and walk on a leash. He wouldn't last to long about enough time to go about 2 houses and back. You have to start early carrying around a bag of treats to train them.

Had another that would follow me around inside and outside. At first I used a leash but he picked up heeling pretty fast. If I sat down he would sit by my feet. Every so often he'd put his front feet on my knees, I'd pet him then he would lay back down.

He'd jump up and down in excitement regularly. My sister kept cats, and one day when my brother-in-law brought over the dog for the first time, he (the dog) naturally started chasing the cat all over the apartment until he finally cornered him.

The cat, scared, started jumping up and down. The dog (all excited now), did as well. Except they were completely out of sync. When the cat was up, the dog was down and vice versa. This went on for some time and made for such an arresting spectacle that I still remember it 40 years later.

Here is my most recent, out on his first excursion. I think he was about a year old when he showed up at my door and wouldn't leave.
