EV, PHEV, and Hybrid Car Owners Check-in

How do you like your car?

I have been driving my 2011 Volt for a month now and absolutely love it. Our other family car is a 2013 Prius, but for driving enjoyment you really can't compare the two.

My Volt is #2512

8. Just remember to take into account commute range

When deciding.

30 miles, or more Hybrid... Electric, or Plugin if a bit shorter

Also test, find one that fits your situation personality and sizewise.

2. currently have a 2013 Volt, and love the technology. Biggest criticism is the backseat is useless

for passengers. The later models have added a little more backseat room, but still inadequate. They also fixed awful instrument cluster

The other green car I had was the Prius, and it is also a great car. The Prius is much more refined for passengers.

Technologically I prefer the Volt, but until they allow the backseat to have more room, or put that technology into a larger affordable vehicle, that address those deficiencies, I will not be moving to the Volt's next generation. Toyota's Prius Prime plug in hybrid, still doesn't have enough all electric range as the Volt does, so until that is improved to at least 40 miles on all electric, I won't be moving up there either.

They moved the Volt's technology into the cadillac, but a 70K a car, no way.

I am very excited though what will be coming in the next few years

7. Prius has more back seat that. Volt

But the ride is well a Prius ride. From what I have tried, the ride.in the new Prius is better. Also, e console is much improved on the new Volt. Both are good cars, just different personalities.

4. I have a 2007 hybrid Camry and I love it!

It was the very first hybrid model that Toyota manufactured.

It's a roomy comfortable sedan.

It gets pretty good mileage when you combine city and freeway driving. But around town, with all the stopping, the mileage isn't great.

It has a great turning radius and is responsive to braking and accelerating.

Our other two cars are electric: The Leaf and Tesla. The Leaf doesn't have a very big range, which is why my husband bought a Tesla. He hasn't driven it much yet; it's very different from any other car we've ever had and he's reading the owner's manual to learn the details.

5. We have a 2012 Prius C - best car by far that I have ever had

coming up on 100,000 miles.

Am watching developments in the industry to see where we may go with the next one. Currently my thinking is a Chevy Volt type vehicle, nut the next purchase is a long ways out according to plan.

9. I like mine

2015 Tesla Model S85. The instantaneous torque is addictive.

One thing I don't like about it is all the stuff that comes flying out of the dash cubbyhole.

10. I drive a 2013 Prius. Perfect car for us at this stage of our lives. If you aren't already

confused by the choices, Hyundai has entered the market in a big way.
Ioniq hybrid, Ioniq EV, and coming later an Ioniq plug-in hybrid.

11. Another Camry hybrid here

2009. Haven't had any troubles with it. It doesn't get used much, since it's my wife's, but it just runs.

12. We have a Ford Fusion plug in hybrid and we love it.

My partner can make it one way to work all electric -about 22 miles.

I love driving it in all electric. Quiet and FAST.

We got a great deal on a one year old car with only 3,000 miles on it. It was a leasing company - probably leased for an employee that didn't use/need it.

I spent ten years in the car business and my somewhat educated theory is these electric cars are a better than normal used deals. I'm thinking electric is "scary" enough for people but even more so in the used market. Bad if you want to trade a year later - great if you want to pick up a one or two year old electric/hybrid/plug in.
